MOVEMENT DAY |
Scholars Program (March 1-2)
The training model is an annual two day training with five hours of training per day for two days. Each training cycle is followed up by readings and book reports. In year three the leaders work on the formation of a decadal plan with a team from their city. It is optimal for multiple persons to attend the training together from the same city.
The five training objectives of the program are:
- A deepened spirituality through the practice of Lectio Davina (reflective reading)
- A theological fluency for cities from the Bible
- Becoming a subject matter expert on your city – it’s history, its challenges, and the potential of a united church
- Alliance building in your city especially among marketplace leaders, women in leadership, and the next generation
- Creating a decadal plan for your city
Our faculty are practitioners from around the world and have included the late Ray Bakke, Tim Svaboda (YWAM), Mac Pier (founder Movement.org), Mark Visvasam (Movement South Asia), Tom White (City Advance), Kavitha Emanuel (Disruptive City Women), Peter Watt (Movement Day Africa), and city presentations from Accra, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Chennai, Oslo, and New York City.
We will have the Scholars Training on March 1-2, 2023 at the Two Seasons Hotel from 9 am – 3 pm including lunch. Tuition costs are covered by generous supporters. Students will pay for their own books and travel.
